1998 S70 GLT
Entering warmer weather, I have a 6 month window to get my heating system in order.
This post is a fact gather exercise.
I am taking the S70 to Eurofix for an ECC scan.
Hypothetically, I have multiple codes.
So here are the questions:
If I pull the dash will I be able to repair/replace any component that the scan reports as compromized;
Will I be able to turn the ignition switch to test everything - I understand I need to disconnect the negative battery terminal prior to the dash pull:
I have seen posts concerning rattles, heater core the and fittings.
What else is suggested w/the dash out?
If anyone has a write-up or images you think would assist this effort it would be most appreciated.
Thank you and have a great day
Tommy

You might want to replace the evaporator if you take the dash out as it is a pain to do and at the age your car is and if you plan to keep it long term it might be worth considering.
If you remove the dash and connect the battery it will set the airbag light off so that will need to be reset once all back together.
I am no electrical genius as many on here know! However you should then be able to test stuff as long as you plug the ECC back in. The only thing I can think of that may be a problem is the cabin thermostat which is part of the lower dash.
Wait until you get your scan first as some of the stuff can be done without having to take the dash out.
Neil.
