1995 Volvo 850 just purchased

Post by York850 »

Hi guys,

First post here, I bought my 1995 Volvo 850 a few weeks ago and wanted to share with you all.

It is a 2.5 10V manual and has just over 73,000 on the clock. Although an SE model, it has the winter pack and sunroof, so really pleased with that.

I bought a set of Columba alloys for the car and these are currently getting refurbished and will be getting the correct 205/50R16 tyres fitted, rather than the 55 profiles fitted to the current Perfo wheels - which will be getting sold. I've also got an OEM rear spoiler to get painted and fitted, once I manage to get some quotes for the paint. The car came with an OEM spoiler in the correct colour, but didn't have the brake light unit so had to search for another!

After that I plan to completely replace the suspension components to freshen it up, along with a couple of bits of paint to bring it back to as original as possible.

Love the car, had an S70 T5 back when they were current and my mates all had 850's, so whilst this isn't a T5, it is so nice to be behind the wheel of one of these again.

A couple of pics of the car at a recent show after a good clean are below.

Very nice! Looks like Coral Red?

Check that timing belt history, 70k interval on that model ( assuming 10V tracks 20v)

Thanks, I believe it is Volvo 418 Regent Red.

The belt has been changed twice so far, the last being in 2016 I believe at around 60k, so should be ok for a while.

Very nice!

And keep the Perfos - they work so well on the car!

Thank you! Not decided on the wheels, as getting a replacement set of Columba's refurbished which I will collect this evening, I will probably go with those. The Columba's are period correct I guess too.
