Finally got my balanced and checked tires and rims back yesterday (marks were accidentally removed by the tire shop for position on the car and Pirelli tires are bi-directional.........!!). Removed the slave tires and rims used for winter storage and fitted summer tires. Checked car over and then decided to take it for a run if it started.

It fired right up, valved chattered for a few seconds (car has stood for 7+ months, oil pan o-rings were replaced about 3 years and 2500 miles ago) and then quietened down. Took for a gentle 5km run around the neighborhood to get the engine up to temp and then gave a little more boost and it ran nicely and no wheel wobble!

Got home, cleaned the windshield and tomorrow go out and check no leaks and then hand the keys over to the boss for the summer duties for golf runs. Sad to see all the new scratches , scrapes and small dings on the passenger side of the car from careless car owners. Breaks my heart to see it. I might try and buff that side over next winter and see if I can coax some of them out of the paint.

Finally got around to reclamping Abby’s exhaust junction on Evita. Car up on one side with ramps , 2 inch band clamp over ball and socket joint held into position with tipped jack stand. Used permeatex exhaust glue to help seal, idle for ten minutes to warm it up.

Much quieter.

Caitlin helped me finish shutter painting , too!

Band clamp 2 inch SS , 14 mm hex bolts, deep socket

Tailgate latch ( 8628917 ) failed closed. No amount of patient troubleshooting or Salty Sailor Swearing helped.

I was too invested in being folded up in the back of the car to take pics of the Odyssey pulling the rear inner trim panel/card.
There were eight (8) very nice, long sheet metal screws involved. Undetermined if it will be salvageable.

I replaced my dead Volvo battery (4y) with a Walmart battery. I think Johnson Controls makes the Walmart ones (?)

Johnson ? used to supply Costco up here in Canada. only knew this as I knew one of the guys involved. Don't know now, but they used to be good batteries even in our winters.

I have Everstart Walmart batteries in pretty much all of my cars. They're good overall, never had issues with them.
