850 oil capacity and pan

Post by magna224 »

I think I read somewhere at some point the oil capacities changed on the 850. What year was that or am I wrong? I had a car at one time that required more oil than normal but it had extensive work done to it. I've heard I can swap pans and dispsticks to a newer engines one or something along those lines that may have been what that car had. Which year pans and dipsticks work to increase capacity? Im going to be driving my daily 850 a few thousand miles at once and it looses 1/3 of a quart after a few hundred miles. I'm missing the dipstick bolt and so some leaks from the dipstick and I assume the rest burns after 170k. My engine seems to have a bit of pressure even with new PCV systems and cleaning out the block the best I can so I've just let the pressure blow out the dipstick because when it was fixed I lost an exhaust cam seal. I do need to do my oil pickup seals too.
