Robert did the experiment some years ago, mapped his 850 T5 temps during some track days, and sent the oil off to the lab. He says he saw no difference with the delete plate installed, and when he's working on a clients car, he refuses to replace the oil lines. He keeps a few plates in his toolbox for that very reason. I think he's harvested five or 6 so far in SoCal.bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑20 May 2022, 21:44Well the good thing is that you can rest assured that your oil temperature is regulated as Volvo intended. Not much more than that though lol.
What did you do to your Volvo today?

I knew there was stuff inside the rust ball,
Several hours later, after getting the calipers and rotors off, I convinced it to become a well-articulated part of the parking brake system again.69 1800s, @500k Death by Rust

I replaced one of the oil cooler line two years ago, I've spotted the other one leaking a few days ago so this time i'll be going block off plate (or not if I do a RN swap)

Today, I put a little micro attachment on my shop vac and sucked up all the little puddles of oil in the crevices of my cylinder head around the spark plugs. I think this is just every little bit of oil I slopped around the filler neck when topping off the oil. Once it goes under that black cover, it's out of sight and mind. Pretty clean now.

Right now my guess is a failing wastegate actuator, not sure
The crank and rod bearings dont look too bad for a 360 000km (~220k miles), some wear but nothing worrying
