Went to a junkyard today - no 850's, but 4 early 90's Dodge Shadow's.
I had read on a thread regarding wiper arms, that these will fit, and will put the parked wiper arms down below the hood line, something that I have always noted as a flaw in the original design. You'd think that after 10 years of design and development that they would have come up with a more elegant solution. Apparently not having to open the hood to change out the blades, won out over having them sticking up above the hood line all of the time. Passenger side is legitimately high enough into the field of vision, that the passenger can actually look under it while seated.
Makes one think that the wipers were a forgotten item, till that last Friday. " Here Olaf, hold my beer. I've got this ". But who knows.
At least there are no O-rings.
What I do know is that I drove the car without the wipers installed at one point after the engine rebuild, and it was so nice to have a clear unobstructed view over the hood.
So I'm going to experiment and see if this works. From first observations, the arms fit on the shafts fine, but are a couple of inches shorter than the stock arms, so I hoping that longer blades will make up for most of that difference. So we shall see....

It was eKATerina day…worked on the s70 awd.
Got one Side of parking brake in , had bad parts on other
New rear brake pads
Did two Gibbons drain and fill of ATF
Rolled the T5 to ferry at 65 mph 28mpg

Interesting note on the Dodge Shadow wiper arms. I’m surprised any of those even exist anymore. I think the only place I ever see them is at the junkyard.
Changed the oil on the XC90 today, and changed the serpentine belt tensioner pulley yesterday. It still sounds a little whiny, but I think that’s just how these V8s sound. I’ve never heard one that didn’t sound like it had some pulley noise. The alternator and power steering pump feel and sound good, so I’m not going to worry about either for now.
As for the V70R, I fixed the subframe bushing that popped out a little after running over a parking stop (I’m an idiot, no idea how I forgot that was in front of me). Just took a little tapping, as it’s a delrin bushing. They are a must have. I tried to bend the bracket back into shape, but it wasn’t worth getting it perfect since I’m installing the C70 chassis brace once I figure out a solution for the exhaust mount just past the cat (still using the AWD exhaust). Back together with a new bolt. Car feels tighter again. It felt a little sloppy before, but it might have just been in my head. I’m still not sure that the alignment is perfect, but it seems to be just as it was before. I’m definitely overthinking it.

Well the wiper arm replacement went pretty well. As expected, the wiper pattern is a little different than stock, but not wildly.
I went with Bosch 24" on the drivers side, and 26" on the passenger side.
The pic with the blue tape shows the difference between the stock ( sharpy mark ) and the new ones. I guess some of that could be taken up with a longer blade, but considering the amount of times that I have to use them, I'll deal with it for now. Around here your blades dry out in about 2 years anyway.
But inside view is greatly improved.

When I lift my car using a four-post automotive lift, I put the front pads on this subframe mount. Specifically, I put the pad touching the back two bolts and the center bulge. Is that a safe way to lift the car?
