As you can see, the bump stop is tottaly degraded.
I have read a few posts, but I am not getting the relationship between removing the shock and replacing the bump stop.
Does removing the shock give access to the spring and stop?
I have watched the usual videos by R. Spinner and FCP, however I still do not have a grasp of the replacement procedure.
Will someone link me a site?
I am guessing that I should stay away from UOR/UNO, Pro parts Sweeden. Is Rein good for this?
That is enough for today, HA.
Merry Memorial Day,
Tommy

Been a few years since I replaced those but I believe I used Rein. No problems at all with them.
If memory serves correctly, you need to undo the shock in order to drop the suspension enough to get the spring out so you can replace the bump stop. I do remember that it was an easy procedure.
Of course mine didn't have the cool bungee cord....

That’s it. Some heat on the lower shock nut will help ease it without fuss. 30mseconds of propane , keeping it on the nutSveedy wrote: ↑29 May 2022, 18:38 Been a few years since I replaced those but I believe I used Rein. No problems at all with them.

Observing the bump stop, there is a black collar.
On FCPEuro, the Febi stops do not come w/the collar. Are these generally reusable or where can I find them?
Additionally, what is the location/install of the collet? Anybody have an image?
Thanks again,
Tommy

Arrgh ! As soon as you said Febi, I remembered that those were the ones that I ended up getting, not the Rein.
The collar must be reusable. Sorry I had the car parked on its side when I took the pic.
