I don’t know the answers to your questions. Cutting the key will cost you a bit done locally, whereas at allibaba it’s only $4 extra. You also can get keys there with the id48 transponder, though unprogrammed . The more I researched the problem the deeper the rabbit hole became. A few programming solutions no longer were operative, as there was no response to my DMs. So I opted for this simple and cheap solution. Now I can have any number of working keys for $8 a pop.
