spent all afternoon fighting with the front muffler to cat flange, still getting a small exh leak at the bottom of the flange.
So I removed everything again.
I ground the mating surfaces flat and shiny, new gasket.
Better but still a slight pfft.
Whats next, exh cement?
Looking at the photo I think I assembled one of the clamps wrong, its pulling apart.

Where's the flex pipe? I don't think you'll keep it from pulling apart without one, unless you do all solid engine and trans mounts to keep the engine from moving even the slightest bit.

Cut those flanges off amd bridge the pipes with a band clamp, the only thing cooler than oetiker clamps

flex pipe is before the cat,
this joint is after the cat.

has anyone tried the airbag jack, $150 on amazon.
Garage is a bit cramped to use the regular trolley jack, not enough room for the long jack handle on both sides.

pop....fsssssssssssss.....OW!!

But seriously, it looks kind of jumpy and not controlled. You can't get a floor jack straight in the from the back? Or in my tight garage, sometimes I put the jack more parallel to the car - at an angle reaching under. Then the handle swings down close to the doors and doesn't hit the wall.

I replaced the rubber drip trim and cowl pieces on both sides this evening. Looking good. 😀

jumpy because its air, not hydraulic.
I couldn't think of a more stupid place to put the jack than balance it like that,

Flushed my transmission fluid in my XC, which I now call my truck. 😬 It was confusing leading up to the flush as I checked it several times while it was hot and the fluid was way above the full line. When I drained it earlier, I got 5qts + 2.76ozs. It should have been around 3.5-4qts. I made note of the overage and put 3.5 qts in it and did two flush cycles to bright red. I drove it around the block going through the shifts and checked it. It was at the full mark, not over. I’m going to take the fluid to the recycling center which should get it nice and hot and check it. If it’s over full I’ll pull 200ml out of the dipstick tube w/ the syringe. The difference between the cold and hot mark is supposed to be 200ml. Note: According the the vehicle carfax the transmission was flushed at a trans shop at 120k miles.
