I haven't seen any Hummingbirds yet this year. I should get a new feeder for them because I'm not sure what happened to the old one.

Wow... however did you catch them in motion so well? That's impressive. And great colors and light.

We have almost that same feeder. We've seen four different colors this year so far - one buzzed over my head and I thought it was a huge bee! We have it hanging in a tree near the table in a courtyard, so pretty protected. If you sit still long enough, you can see or hear one.

Dirk, I had a N90, great camera. Your photos are super, thanks for sharing.

My M4-P I bought with motor winder for $900 in 1995, and a week or so later I bought the 1.4 lens for $750. Sold each for what I paid for it a couple years later. This was before the ocean of doctor/dentist/lawyer Baby Boomers retired and had nothing to do it seems except buy up Leica equipment, which pushed prices ever higher.

I couldn't afford a used 1.4 again today, no way. I did get a M6 and Contax lens for it a decade ago, a little before prices started going up quickly. I'd gladly trade back (down?) to that M4-P and 1.4. I liked those more.

BB, yes that is Abscate's used motor oil tank. About the white elephant film body... it depends. For one, if you'd have happened to buy Nikon's last manual focus SLR new in 2003, you'd be financially ahead of the game. It might have been their last SLR, period. I don't know. I have one I bought new, and I used it last night.

Another way to look at your almost-purchased film camera would be this: it would still work today exactly how it would have worked the day you bought it, so in that regard it wouldn't have been like say today's computers are, where unless you bend over backwards to not update its software, they're too slow to use.

To everybody: I don't advocate for film! Unless you like to DIY BW/color in your basement, or enjoy the look it brings, I think film is absolutely "not for everybody". So with all this film talk please know I'm not advocating for it. It's expensive and time-consuming. It does not provide more resolution than a modern phone.

This freighter ran aground in 1982 off San Quintin in Baja, and has been there ever since. We swam out to it and walked inside it. We got in through a busted hull plate at water level (high tide).

Nice pictures! We have two hummingbird feeders. Still quite exotic for a European immigrant

Love those guys even though they dive bomb me when I’m trying to refill the feeders

Today's photo: I took this photo this morning in by back yard with my phone. If you look close, you see the rabbit has only half a left ear. Because of the ear, I have recognized this rabbit around the yard for several years.
