We have almost that same feeder. We've seen four different colors this year so far - one buzzed over my head and I thought it was a huge bee! We have it hanging in a tree near the table in a courtyard, so pretty protected. If you sit still long enough, you can see or hear one.
Birds seem to really interest me lately and we do get hummingbirds every year. They are fun to watch, and later in August the males get very aggressive defending their territory. That's when you have to be careful near them, they actually buzz right over our table on the deck during dinner. We call them "Hummingbird Wars", when 2 or 3 go at it.
I took these with my Nikon DSLR and a 300mm Nikon Zoom. That, and a lot of patience will do it. Oh, and the lighting has to be right, usually the afternoon glow is nice.
