Why do the inspections take 3 weeks? Do they disassemble and rebuild the car?

Same, here in NC they barely even look at anything for inspections.

Luckily my 96 only needs safety inspections now in Texas. No more emissions testing.

Same, NC only does emissions testing for cars newer than 20 years old.

Changed shocks and shock mounts on my '98 V70. Been spraying the bolts with PB and scrubbing with toothbrush for over a month and was extremely relieved when I got the bolts out without snapping them (and they did not look good.) Don't we get a merit badge or something for this?

Staff problems and supply chain problems. The only two garage that actually fix cars are backed up 4-6 weeks on jobs

With my crew gone, it’s harder for me to use garages where I have to travel back

In a pinch I can walk to the garage and grab a car back if I have to.
