Post by FireFox31 »

The FCP "Pit Stop" summer sale is on now, 7/22/22 through 7/26/22. Get up to 20% off the parts you've been meaning to buy and know you'll install eventually. Remember to use the MVS link and mention MVS in the comment section of your order.

I meant to ask abscate again to clarify -
If I buy some shocks, drive on them for 10 years, wear them out - they will replace these?? I just bought some Koni shocks for my son's old BMW - before this sale I think!

As I understand their warranty: FCP will replace any part you buy from them for as long as you own the car you installed it on. 10 year old shocks, 7000 mile engine oil and filter, torn wiper blades, rusty stuck brake calipers, and more are all covered under their warranty if you bought the original part from them and still own the car on which they were installed. To claim on the warranty, purchase a new copy of the part, start a return for the old one citing its old order number, ship the old one back, they'll review the part, and if they approve it, they refund you the amount you paid for the new copy of the part. If the part which failed is no longer available through them, they have ways of handling that. If the part which failed is a component of a kit, they have ways of handling that too.

Do read their Lifetime Warranty information and ask their customer service to get the most accurate information.

I think FCP are the guys to ask but Ive returned about $600 of stuff this year.

Three cans brake fluid

A BMW Crankcase breather I destroyed installing it due to my butchery. I ordered a new one and confessed my sins, and was blessed with warranty replacement. User butchery is covered.

Brake rotors and pads

Oil, air, cabin filters - all nicely plastic bagged

I once replaced the tie rod ends on the 850, ordered from ipd. I took both sides off so had no reference to look at. I decided to fit the tapered ball joint shaft in UPSIDE DOWN through the hole. My brain was upside down is what the problem was. I ruined it pounding to force it. Called them to order another, admitted my stupidity, and they gave me a screaming deal. I appreciated that. They went in smoothly when correct.

There are two kinds of FCP Warranty users: those who buy from them expecting to return things (they make money), and those who do return things (they lose money).

Abscate is... in the latter group.

I bought this car as a temporary vehicle until I found a V70R. But I've put so many FCP parts on it that I want to keep the car in order to claim the warranties. So far I've only returned two oil and filters. I am oddly eager for my brake calipers to rust out so I can get them all replaced, helping offset all the calipers I bought from the dealership over the decades.

Why wait? Replace them now for the cost of shipping.
