Have you ever cleaned the ETM. The throttle plate can get sticky.
Other possibility could be the coolant temp sender. Check the connector near the power steering pump as they are known to corrode and even break. Does you engine come up to temperature normally?
Neil.

To me, the temperature gauge is higher than it was on my others P80 (needle on 2/3 rather than on the middle of the gauge). I think the radiator and the PCV box need both to be replaced. They may be OEM parts, and so, from 1995...

How about pulling the intake ducting off, and verifying the butterfly is moving with the peddle?

Yep it’s nice and clean. Temp sensor is brand new, car comes up to temp just like it always has. I have a vida/dice on the way, hopefully it’ll shed some light on whatever is happening.scot850 wrote: ↑22 Jul 2022, 15:16 Have you ever cleaned the ETM. The throttle plate can get sticky.

Neil.
Seems to be moving as it should, the etm responds to the pedal, the car just doesn’t want to move.

If I try to drive off after startup without letting it idle for a few, it refuses to go anywhere. Pedal to the floor, I could outrun it on foot, it pretty much just idles forward then eventually picks up a little steam.
So is the engine revving in response to the throttle and not moving, or is it not revving beyond idle? If the engine is responding to the pedal properly, but not moving, I think you have a transmission issue.s10lowrider1994 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2022, 20:08 Seems to be moving as it should, the etm responds to the pedal, the car just doesn’t want to move.

it Sure sounds like the throttle body limp mode. VIDA check on the sensors is the definitive way to confirm

It functions fine in that respect, revs up with no hesitation, and it shifts as good as it ever has. Whatever the issue, it’s only present for a minute or two during the first drive of the day, It’ll do it once then I can’t get the problem to replicate until the car sits overnight. When it does act dumb, I can put it to the floor and there’s no throttle response at all, so it’s not revving up and refusing to move, it’s just like the car has no power.454cid wrote: ↑23 Jul 2022, 23:43If I try to drive off after startup without letting it idle for a few, it refuses to go anywhere. Should have vida in my hands in a few days. Do you know by chance if the contactless tps sensor is going to screw with anything diagnosis wise? I’m honestly hoping you’re right and it’s a glaring etm issue so I can just buy a xemodex unit and call it a day.
