They are going the OE route and taking it to the dealer. I said to them I forgot Volvo should recover the car to their shop for free if I recall correctly. That is a $150 saving anyway to getting it to another shop.

A local repair shop quoted them $2600 for the same diagnostic and repair! guess they don't ant the work!

I got confirmation that Volvo has a 'Tow for Life program and it Canada it is free for up to 50km and then you are on the hook for costs beyond that. They will take you to the nearest dealer and is free if they do the repairs there.

I now have my fingers crossed as I just found out they towed the car on a rope about 2km home at very low speed. Not a good idea with an automatic trans and especially with an AWD car. OOPS!

A bit late, but they now have a nice leather pouch with a 2006 S60/S60R owners handbook which I found in my 'stash'. Unfortunately 2 days too late assuming they had read it!

User manual says can be towed for up to 50 kms. Or miles? 2 km won't harm it too much.

Just found a Q&A on a Volvo AWD. It says not to tow an AWD with all wheels on the ground as you can damage the AWD system. You can tow it at a max. 45 mph with just the front wheels off the ground no further than 30 miles:

Well all is now good. Clogged pump is replaced, but fuel leak when filled. This was fixed by the dealer. The 'O' ring had not seated properly allowing it to leak. This fuel pump must have been failing for a while, as the owner now says it is running way better and the code for the low fuel pressure has not come back on after a week. So hopefully now is all good!
