XC90 Faulty turn signal switch or other issue!?

Post by vmaxmike »

Hello,
My 2007 3.2 xc90 turn signal switch all of a sudden stopped working. I removed and clean contacts but it did not fix anything. Interestingly, the message display does not respond to the Read button, messages dont change when I turn the wheel and high beams dont work. So nothing works that is controlled by the multi-function stalk / switch.
Could this possibly be a CEM issue or other module or just a bad board in the switch perhaps? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

At this age, likely bad turn signal switch.
You can use a good junk yard part as a diagnostic tool.
Or real Volvo part is not that expensive.

I tried a warrantied used one from eBay but no change so I returnded that and replaced the SWM and that fixed it! Scanner was showing CEM not getting a signal from the Steering Wheel Module (AKA lever hub). Both stalks plug directly into this on each side. Also replaced the SAS at same time which was also dead. ABS/ traction control lights are still on though. Will post a seperate message about that now as I not sure about something...
