Late 50s Studebaker Golden Hawk?

My dad had a Lark, and the 289s they had were some great engines. Didn't have the supercharger like the Golden Hawks though.

This is one of my favorites of that era of flashy American cars -
Smaller than their normal cars, stainless steel roof, very cool cast wheels, the body rolls under the sides like a fuselage, fantastic shaping, air suspension, quite fast - what is it?

1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham?

Nothing looks better than a 1950s American made car, in my opinion.

(I still have parts from my 1958 Chevy Biscayne laying around, both original parts off of the car and NOS parts I didn't get around to installing.)

Yep! My notes say 1957. 400 built that year. Hand-built, "...limited edition car with every conceivable luxury feature as standard equipment. A brushed stainless steel roof, air suspension, suicide doors, quad headlamps, memory seats, cruise control, automatic trunk opener, Autoronic eye (headlamp dimmer), power windows, forged aluminum wheels, transistorized radio, air conditioning, a choice of 44 full leather trim combinations and a lot more.

Engine 365 CID V8, 325 horsepower"

And very expensive. Equivalent of $140,000 today. I read they lost money on every one of them, but it was a "look what we can do" project.

Look like Brits in the African Campaign, WWII - is that a Bren Gun?

Long Range Desert Patrol, North Africa. Yes, mostly Brits and Australians I think, using American Willys and Ford jeeps. Remember, the Land Rover didn't exist yet. They carried the maximum fuel they could fit, heavy armament for such a little PT boat, and were supported by supply trucks for their quick raids. They cut the grille ribs out to maximize cooling, and had a big coolant tank added on the front.

Look like Brits in the African Campaign, WWII - is that a Bren Gun?

When my younger son was a teen, he built these elaborate WWII airplane models, and this cool little 3" long Desert Patrol jeep out of three different kits combined for all the gear and details.
