Hi Lee .
Yes the belt is off the Cams are locked.
It's been running , I just had time to dig into it and try to figure out why it started this rough idle lowered mpg some reduced power, after checking everything a week or so went by and i got a check engine and a code P0016, Then checked everything associated with that code.
Last was my timing, the timing is spot on.
I removed the belt to check water pump and tensioner and idler, there new and smooth went I was putting the belt back on is when I discovered the Hub didn't rotate the 3,4 teeth counter clockwise or forward smoothly it's got a real roughness to it and no more spring action.
So here I am... lol

Now 55k on the used CVVT exhaust hub. I might hear the first early sound of hub noise, very subtle with engine revs

I swapped a used hub into my R probably 6 months ago, it quieted it down for maybe a day. It's still better than it was, but it groans slightly on cold starts. I'll fix it eventually... probably when I build another motor for this car!

Now 75k on the used hub and its still quiet.

Replaced VVT hub now at roughly 100k , and is still quiet

REALLY? YEAR LATER???

lol Hi hope all is well with you and the guys/lady's on here.... jaguar is or was done and running nicely and one day I started it up to go for a short drive and I got a buzzing noise. Checked trans fluid, all other fluids, checked all wheel bearings, drive/prop shaft center bushing no play.. Couldn't find anything . Don't hear it at idle it doesn't seem to be coming for the engine.
So it parked...

Other than that the volvo has a few issues a knocking sound in the front suspension, new springs and bushings, ball joints seem fine ,no play,sway bar links and in good shape, subframe bushings all been replaced, subframe tight, wheel bearings are tight no play wheel spin smoothly.
So I just been living with it.

So that's my story..
