V70 - Manual Key Won't lock/unlock doors

Post by jonesboy1983 »

I just noticed this today. My 2007 V70 I cannot lock or unlock the doors with the valet key or the key blade on the FOB. The buttons on the FOB work fine and can lock or unlock the doors with no issue. But physically putting the key in the drivers side slot and turning does nothing. No current lights or anything. Only thing different is that I recently replaced the climate control module and unplugged the battery to do that. But everything works fine on the climate control and this very well could have been a problem long before we just very rarely use the blade key or valet key to lock the car. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

the ignition lock barrel and key blade were swapped but door locks not changed, should be a second older key for the doors.
I don't think I've ever tried the key in my locks, rarely lock it anyway.

I don't think anything has been swapped. I've had the car for 8 years and it definitely used to work... probably within the last year or so the manual locking has worked with the key. But now it doesn't.
