Man what a case of extremes... extremely rare (T-5R wagon), and extremely messed up (mold?!). That'll take a year or two to get it running and looking good for one of us shade-tree'ers.

I rarely watch those auctions, I just put in the proxy bid that I think my current bank account can tolerate. I know how rare these have become, and of course, I wanted Robert to be proud of me, so I did watch this one cross the block. I was out at $2k ( I figure the fees when I play with these folks, beware the credit card upcharge too ); the final battle was between somebody with a Philly location in their profile, and another bidder showing Orlando. Florida Man prevailed, so if the geography is accurate, now calculate 850-odd miles shipping, and add a HazMat suit.
Besides, I just put a roof on the house, the old heat pump has its tongue hanging out, and I have my eye on a non-Volvo car in Capitals' inventory not listed for sale yet. I may have to sell something soon.

This shows you how valuable these cars are. Think of any non-exotic car from the 70s that everybody loves, appreciates, and wants, and this is the same thing in 20 years.

How could anyone remove the mold from that car? Strip it down to bare metal and treat each carpet, cushion, and trim panel individually? Every piece of foam insulation around every wire would have to be replaced. Mold is the line I don't cross.

Make note of the VIN. Then, when it appears on Bring A Trailer, notify the community of its history. That's not a snitch, it's a public service announcement.
