Needs a transmission. Decided don't have the garage space, nor time, nor strength to tackle this anymore. Been sitting for over a year and she fired right up and tires weren't flat nor low.

Wow! I have a local guy who rebuilds for $1,800 to $2,300 depending whether it needs a valve body. Warranty is for 1 year only rather than the 3 year for reman but that's around $4,500.

Car was towed to a friend's house and sits in his driveway. Haven't seen it for sometime and decided to go over and put air in the tires. Unlike the Project 2007 S60 2.5T, sitting also, it didn't require any filling of air. Saw that the Reg will be up Dec and also realize how much more of a cruiser it is compared to the S70, decided to turned in the plates and for now will just keep it till I can have a closer look and maybe put a transmission in it. The P2 T6 compared with P80 NA. WOW that's about all I have to say as they are kin .

Oh it's night and day. My dad (1999 S80 TT) and I (850 T-5) owned our Volvos concurrently for about a decade. I drove his about 30 miles on freeways one day about ten years ago after he got Lasik eye surgery when I took him home after the procedure.

I was shocked at how refined it was. It was serene, quiet, and powerful. The ride was like surfing on a cloud. The seat and controls placement was possibly more comfortable than my 850*.

It wasn't the only time I drove it, but for whatever reason the drive was memorable for those characteristics. I think it was because it may have been the only time I drove it on a highway.

It was night and day, though the 850 was lacking nothing compared to the average car. The S80 was practically begging me to drive it to Las Vegas. It was whispering to me, "Don't stop until we're a state or two away," which for these states in the West, is a double-digit-hour cruise.

It was like a 747 with a shag-carpet spiral staircase up to the bar/lounge in the hump vs. a Southwest 737 filled with loud and excited NASCAR fans on their way to the Las Vegas 400. I've actually experienced both .

OH MY! You're messing with me Matt. Really is every bit as you've described. It's the only car my 80+ year old mom will ride in the front while on the freeway. As much I love the S70 including the 98 T5 it is really a night and day difference. Can't let it go now!

At friend's home in Raleigh. Had him start it and it fired right up without hesitation. I was going to visit the transmission one day but now it's set to be towed to LKQ Pick Your Part - 1301 S Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703 Wednesday morning. Was still taking care of the car so the turbo charge hose was new from FCP when the trans died .
