I picked up an SC-901 head unit, connecting wire harness for the amp and the amp at the junkyard last week.
Someone had already removed the head unit and then left it in the back of the car. I know to pull the am an cable as most forget to do that. When I removed the wire I realised the smaller of the 2 main connectors to the back of the head unit was missing and it's wire just hanging.
When cleaning the head unit yesterday, I discovered the missing connector was still stuck in the back of the head unit and the wire had just been yanked out breaking it flush at the connector.
I will probably pull another connector next time at the junkyard with a piece of cable to allow a connection to be made, but my question is does anyone know what pin removal tool I need to extract the pin from the connector?
I have a small set of connector pin removal tools but none seem to work and I don't know what the pin looks like to find the correct release tool. Anyone have any ideas and can point me in the right direction please?
In the picture above the locking bar for the pin has been opened up
You can see the only pin in the 3rd hole from the left in the bottom row.
Any help appreciated.
Neil.

I’ll try to dig up Ricks post on the pin release set, I’m sure one will do the trick

There’s a plastic tang in the plug body
that drops into a hole in the connector pin.
A very thin, flat pin release tool should
lift it up and out to free the pin.

I broke the plastic tang off trying to remove it. I can see no easy way to remove it. I tried the 5 different tools I have and none did a thing really to help release it. Once it broke the tank off it still came out with a struggle.
I then tried it in one of the other slots for giggles, and it was a bear to get to go in. Now naturally it won't come back out!
I think my original plan is the way to go and cut a pigtail and connect to it.
Thanks guys.
Neil.

I had issues with this, except with the yellow accessories block. I had harvested some male prongs from other plugs, but I couldn't get them to go into the yellow block. Ended up splicing into the wires just before the block instead.
