In NY we have to be inspected before registration, except new ones. I got caught in a bad one with Shagg when she was out of state and stations didn’t want to inspect it unregistered but I couldn’t register it uninspected.

Yes, they do things differently here in CT. Inspection? We only need that if it's a salvage titled vehicle that's been repaired, and only to be able to get a rebuilt title for it.

I’m terrified driving through some of these states, wondering what’s on the road.
Even with my annual inspections, and I like to think I stay on top of my fleet, I still catch myself on worn out brakes on occasion.
The Bavarian money waster just got new rears after 60k/6 years but they were down to the last 1mm…yikes
I love that on Volvo , you can see the pads with the car on the ground.

Nothing in CT is for free, in fact, temp tags are seriously expensive. But luckily the inspection station is only 1/2 mile from my house
And they will at least test unregistered vehicles
