Speakers silent /Bluetooth relay

Post by Exkodaker »

OK, So this isn't earth shattering just annoying my front speakers went silent. No big deal I just faded everything to the rear. Then the rear speakers went silent. I poked around and found some videos of sound system upgrades and they pointed out the amplifier and I thought that might be the problem. Nope. So I turned the car on and started to pull the speaker cable connectors off the amplifier. That accomplished nothing. But when I disconnected one of the connectors from the blue tooth relay all the speakers came on. What is the purpose of that thing? I am pretty much in the dark with much of these systems.
Thanks
Blair

This may or may not help- https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/fact ... es.639037/ . if you have a rebranded Motorola IHF1000 or 1500 and Premium sound, you'll have a relay under the front passenger seat to manage the bluetooth audio. If you're not going to use the Volvo control unit or it's no longer work properly, remove the relay as noted in the accessory instructions. There's a guy on Swedespeed and maybe here on MVS by the name of Karl Nitz (khnitz) who has stock of select parts that he sells on Bonanza and knows these systems very well, perhaps he can help if it's troubleshooting you're looking for.

Thank you so much! when people post about the nav system or the other numbers I had no idea what they were talking about. As for the bluetooth controller I thought it was an aftermarket thing as there is a docking unit in the middle of the dash for an early iPhone.
I removed the bluetooth relay and plugged the speaker cable connector into the amplifier and all the speakers are operational. I did look at the swedespeed link quickly and will look in more depth in the future.
Again Thank You very much.
