P1113 Ambient Air Temp Topic is solved

Can someone please point me to this part. Seems to be discontinued and the Volvo online diagram is confusing so don't have any idea where it is?

On which car from your fleet?

There are usually 2 on V/S/C 70 P80's. The temperature readout in your car if it has it, has one sensor the other is the ambient temperature sensor for the engine.

The engine temperature one should be just to the left of the center (standing in front of the car) air intake below the hood grille, and you should find it clipped into the air deflector tray under the car. It means the tip faces into the lower grille aperture near the front of the tray.

If you look at the picture above, there is a round hole in the air guide perpendicular to the sticky label on the LHS of the picture.

The dash ambient temp gauge looks identical and should clip into the RH lower grille on the bumper from the rear between the slats.

Found 2 sensors. First one is left of the vent / grill where the driver's side fog light goes. I don't have fogs however. Used the teeth of the needle nose plier's to gently pull and scrape the pins of any oxidation and then applied dielectric grease. Also bent the pins ever so slightly for tighter contact and pulled and pushed into socket a few times to clean the socket plug.

The second sensor is under frame at the end of the splash guard on the passenger. Do not have to remove the splash guard for access. Mine was not installed properly so I removed it. Found several wasp / mud nest.

That is not where the 2nd sensor goes. It plugs into the undertray as I tried to explain in one of my previous posts. That ensures it is in the ambient air intake which the engine uses to regulate air/fuel.
