2010 V70: disable FOB proximity unlocking?

2010 V70: disable FOB proximity unlocking?

Hi,

I swim in a river for exercise and cannot take my key fob with me. I started locking it into one of those lockboxes that fits into a tow hitch. The other day i realized that even when in the lockbox the RF from the FOB will still allow me ( and others which is obviously concerning ) to pull the handle and unlock/open the door.

Is there a way to disable this?

wrap the fob in tinfoil.?
try it.
