Volvo Repair Database 2004 XC70 - Car Lower Chassis Coating gone

Post by johndeuf89 »

Hello Everyone,

I have read in the Volvo owner manual that the lower chassis is coated with anti-rust product. I have recently observed some places where the coating is gone (see pictures attached). I don't know if the chassis material is internally treated against corrosion or if this black coating is what's protecting the chassis from the rust and hence if I need to re-apply some anti-rust coating on the parts where it is gone.

What do you think ?

Thanks for your replies.

That's not really an issue, I guess it depends on where you live. The rubber bushing will dry rot before anything breaks.. it's not a Toyota, Subaru, Dodge, Audi, BMW Ford I hate rrrrust !!!
