Best way to get wiring from front to trunk Topic is solved

Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.

^ Thanks for those pics. Exactly what I needed to see. And just what I think I want to avoid. But a quick glance under the car showed a plausible path following and attaching to the brake line, then drill and grommet a la B.B.

+1 for running wiring the same place that Volvo does.
There isn't any factory wiring running from the front
to the back underneath of the car for good reasons.
You're just asking for trouble - Keep it inside.

I ran my hot wire for the trailer electronics underneath the car. Super quick install :roll:

Well there is wiring under there to the rear o2 sensor, so I would think that properly shielded and attached, I could go the couple of feet longer to get to the trunk. I think it's going to be one of those fun things that will be determined when I wade into it.
But I very much appreciate the input. I'll post my results for posterity.

Looking at the first pic by Goupil, is that flat black piece of plastic by the rear door an actual cover for a wire raceway / conduit or is that just a piece laying there ? I'm probably going to have to feed 4 or 5 wires front to back.

Well in that case, I think it's worth a trip to the automotive repair lab, aka the junkyard, to see if I can remove those sills / carpet without damaging anything. Maybe ( hoping ) it will be easier than I'm thinking , but otherwise it's going under the car.
I could actually run the wires inside a rubber hose like vacuum line, instead of the plastic wire loom stuff if more protection is needed.
