Hi Guys. Just wondered if anyone can tell me how the opposite end of the rubber hose end gets attached or tightened down?
I can't see real well down towards the firewall. (See attachment for clarity)

It’s a thread fitting with an ring angle seal. It is not a flare fitting, common mistake.
It can be very hard to break the steel thread out of the cast power steering rack thread

Verify your fitment, don't go by parts diagrams necessarily. Some are push-in connections with O-rings instead. Both of my 2004 models had 4 different rack configurations possible.

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

If it is very hard to break the thread loose down there below, then perhaps I should just cut off say an 1" of the rubber hose end and re-attach it to the new reservoir. It is the rubber hose end near the reservoir that seems to be causing the leak. Not sure if there is enough slackmin that hose end part.

The reservoir itself leaking is common too. You might want to upgrade to the 2005+ version which has an improved design. There is enough slack, but if the hose is Ok it might just be the hose clamp needs replacing or tightening.
