1980 244 hard starting

Hard to start but will start with short turn on the key with no throttle then runs on 3 pots till warm. Smells very rich during warmup and a little rich when warm. Checked cold start valve, tried different injectors, plugs/leads, fresh fuel, injector cleaner and stuff. Any ideas?

check temp sender (the one for the fuel injecton, not the one for the gage) If it is off it will make car too rich or too lean. clean idle air motor on top of valve cover. Use ngk plugs, I have had problems with bosch platimum, bosch std are ok. Platinum tip falls off.

With no throttle it starts for about 3 secs then dies. But extreme fuel smell. anyone?
