I have a 2008 xc70 3.2 AWD. When I bought the car, it did not have the lower torque rod located under the motor. I have a new lower torque rod absorber and the mount that it attaches to. (I have the mount for an AWD and the mount for a non-AWD). The issue is that I cannot find the mounting holes for either one. I tried to install the mounting bracket (part #31277781) but I could not figure out how to mount it.
Does anyone have any actual photos and not just the schematic?
Will I even notice a difference if and when I get the lower torque rod mount installed?
Thanks.

The part number you posted doesn't fit on your XC70.
The 3.2 was used in the P3 and P2 but the motor mounts are different
You should have the same four engine/transmission mounts as my LR2 (a P3 with a Land Rover Badge)
See the last four pictures https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic32979.html
Note: for my S80 FWD it has these four mounts and one more but you indicated AWD not FWD.
The mounts for my LR2 and S80 are interchangeable but they are not the same mounts used in a XC90 3.2 (a P2)
Good luck
Paul

Thanks for your response. I was referring to the torque mount under the motor that connects the frame to the transmission. It looks like this.

The FWD has an extra mount that the AWD doesn't have.
I think you have AWD.
The reason for this as far as I can tell is that the AWD Drive-Shaft (Propeller-Shaft if you prefer) has a center support bearing/bushing that takes care of the motions that the part you are showing is responsible for in the FWD 3.2.
My FWD S80 3.2 P3 has one of those
MY AWD LR2 3.2 P3 doesn't have that mount
Hopefully that helps.
Take care
