Manual swaped 855r no spark

Post by AndreasJJ »

Well i will give this forum a try maybe some Volvo genious can help me..it is manual swaped by some previous owner and sorry in advance If my english is bad

Soo to the point i bought a 855r with no spark,things i have changed/checked:
Distrubator/rotor
Spark plugs
Ignition coil
Ignition wires
Crank sensor
CAM sensor
The relay on the cooling fan is working and the immobilizer is gone

I have some codes and the last one someone said is becuse the car thinks it is in gear thats why it wont start? And as i Said it is manual swaped but the problem is i don’t no where they spliced the harness? I know that some green/green red should be togheter but cant find them..Well i have alot of green and green/red wires but don’t know what goes to where🤷‍♂️Soo If someone has a pinout diagram for the ecu/tcm and what cables i should follow that would be great or any HELP AT ALL WOULD BE NICE and i have no reverse lights it seems like either

Included some random pics of the harness maybe not so much for help but still

Do you know which flywheel was used when they did the swap? If they used the newer flywheel then you have to reverse the polarity of the crank sensor wires. You can do this one of two ways. Physically push the pins out in the connector and switch them or cut the wires and reconnect backwards. I opted to cut the wires on mine. Give it a shot.

Here is a thread that discusses the issue. You can pop your crank sensor out too to see which flywheel you have.

There is a red green splice that has to be made to bypass the Pnp switch but that will cause a no-crank state, not stop ignition. Sorting out someone else’s wiring is difficult but the good news is that job looks bad enough it’s worth starting over and redoing everything. Who goes to the trouble of opening looms and then not replacing the wires? Yuck!
