Re: BaT Megathread
He waited too long to sell it. Holidays are here - not much moves, then winter, then spring... by that time the car market will be even lower than now. This summer was it for sellers, if you were hanging on to something waiting for even higher prices, you ran out of time.

Just heard from Dan; it took over eight weeks for the ad to go live. They told him when he signed up at BaT that it would take two. I think you're right that the timing held back bidding, but it was out of his hands.matthew1 wrote: ↑20 Nov 2022, 16:16 He waited too long to sell it. Ever since BaT was bought by Hearst/Road & Track, it seems there has been a bias towards the high end of the spectrum; my gut feeling is that a 911 gets listed in days, not months. Most of the Volvo's listed recently were no-reserve, maybe that moves cars up the list.
Dan isn't in a hurry, he says he'll fix a couple of lingering issues and try again in the spring.

Maybe somebody slipped and dumped random cans of patina. Then -corrosion here, corrosion there, corrosion everywhere - it’s just been covered up and polished.
It does sit nicely on its tires.
I’m not a teal person at all, and these things look funny in modern colors.
17” wheels look surprisingly good. I’ve always felt that 16” was about the max for this body. The lower the profile the tire, the more out of place it looks. There’s a Seattle guy who put 17” Charger steelies on his dark green wagon and it looked pretty good.
They got blue overspray on the dashboard....
I wonder where that nice old building in the main pic is.

Seller mentions Ballard ? Over 200 pics, so there might be some hidden clues.BlackBart wrote: ↑25 Nov 2022, 19:13 Maybe somebody slipped and dumped random cans of patina. Then -corrosion here, corrosion there, corrosion everywhere - it’s just been covered up and polished.

The one building almost looks like an old trolley barn or some such, with the arched doorways.

A friend suggests Georgetown, which is an early industrial area south of the stadiums downtown, near the old Rainer brewery. Now hipsters, artists, bars, metal shops.
Man, that thing has rust bubbles everywhere.
