1998 v70 NA M56 CV boots

1998 v70 NA M56 CV boots

Resolved with the 1998 NA cv jointbboot Wiki....

  • front left boot Volvo part number GKN
    Front left inner boot Volvo part number GKN other
    Front right inner boot Volvo part number GKN
    Front right outer boot Volvo part number GKN










Having trouble sourcing these

Outer boots easy

GKN 300427 kit complete with nut, fits Both sides

Inner boots.

Driver side takes a 28 mm shaft diameter , roughly 90 mm CV diameter. The boot is just round inside

Passenger side has tripod style with 80 mm across and 40mm axle diameter. The boot is complex with inner ears to seal the complex shape of the bearing cup

Do you have a Volvo or GKN part number? I have some GKN boots here but not sure of what they fit other then my 'R' but I also have another waif and not sure what it is for.

The only one I have found so far is a kit made by 'Empi' (oh the horror!) at IPD:

Was just looking at this site as I know Saab was in the general area as Volvo... I'm guessing they used some of the same transmissions but don't quote me on it.

Shaft diameters quoted above are wrong. I was measuring stub axle diameter

I got my inner passenger side of the '99 from Rockauto. Not sure if it's the same for your vehicle but it was a Rein BKN0132. It says that it replaces 31256221.

Definitely not the right one on the 1998 NA. That app shows an outer boot with a 14mm axle screw too, so I doubt it will fit an inner on any car

The -303946 fit the inner passenger

The Empi fits the inner driver
