Guys,
I have this 03 XC70 that I bought early last year and drove home, a fairly nice high-mileage car, but it needed a radiator because the upper plastic filler neck had several cracks. No big deal, park it in the back, order a radiator, and replace with my son as his first car when he's ready.
Fast forward to this week and my son and I replaced the radiator and the car is ready to run but I lost my one and only key to it...Can't find it anywhere although I do have a working key fob to it but that's it.
Can anyone tell me what my options are?
On a side note, I have an 03 xc70 parts car that I've stolen many items from my other kids' cars and it does have a key...It is as simple as swapping the ignition switch and door lock and we're on our way? I also have a Vida/Dice but I'm definitely no expert with it.
Thanks for any help.
Lost my only key, what are my options?

Try going to the dealer with VIN and your state proof of ownership. They may be able to provide a new key. It may not be cheap.
If your ignition lock was ever replaced, this may not work. Every key will have a code chip matched to the car electronics and swap will not work unless other steps are taken. The dealer should match new key chip to your car using VIN.

" I do have a working key fob to it but that's it."
thats the most important thing, the fob contains the coded chip , see if the dealer will cut a new blade, I was quoted $100.
Or you can just swap the lock barrel and blade from the parts car.

Swapping the lock barrel involves cutting Dremel slots into security screws. See thread in my Catherine maintenance thread , link below
