Butt Connectors Acceptable for Ignition Coil Harness?

Not the best job but got it done...and so far, no misfires.

I'd have to keep this in mind for future wiring stuff. I happened to have a small bag of the typical connectors and just used those for now. I watched a video on how those heat shrink connectors work and it looks like an all-in-one solution. One caveat in the video was that it might not work great on larger gauge wires because, depending on the maker of the connector, the solder ring might not be large enough to fully penetrate the wires. Might be perfect for thinner wires..like these ignition wires.

It is hard to make it look pretty every time, but the important part is that the car is running well again. This is a winter project type of job and you can always make a really pretty version if you want to. Well done!

Yes we'll done. I've even seen people put some unmelted solder into the crimp with the wires and then let it melt while they're heating the shrink tube.
