Desperately need a Fuel Delivery pipe # 8627953 2004 XC70

Post by VolvoLewis »

Hi,

I need a replacement to my fuel Delivery pipe 1.00 part # 8627953. Volvo 2004 XC70

The local service department says it is no longer available and scouring the internet I cannot find anything.

Any ideas greatly appreciated as it is leaking like crazy... :x

Thanks,

Lewis

Could it be a seal leaking? Rust out? If rusted, a good cleanup and repair with JB Weld might work.

- Did the hose leak after some work such as PCV job that required I.M. removal?

- Sometimes, during assembly, if the male end is not straight, you can damage the O-ring
(the O-ring seal inside the connector, use a flash light and you will see it).
If this is the case, then try to source an O-ring from local autoparts store.

I would suggest trying the west coast suppliers if rust is the issue with the pipe. Try vandszutodismantlers in Sacramento, CA or up in Canada Chapman Motors in Cobble Hill on Vancouver Island.

GCP.SE who supply classic Volvo parts list it as a 'out of stock' BUT a 'contact us' which may show hope of new parts may be made again. They usually wait for a few orders to make it worth the parts being made. Even if you don't end up using one from them it may be worthwhile registering to get more made!

Good luck!

I'm still not sure what a fuel pipe is.. fuel line from the pump to injectors? .. fill tube to the tank? .. fuel rail?..send pictures of what you're looking at.. I build Volvo's with junkyard parts.. but not always.. somethings you have to buy new MDK

- The "Fuel Pipe" is in the photo below (Yellow arrow).

- It has claws that lock into the male side (Red arrow).

- Inside the "Fuel Pipe" is an O-ring. If this O-ring is damaged, then you will have fuel leak.
Damage happens during re-installation. This is why I always use engine oil (not fuel) during
re-installation for most engine parts. It allows re-installation without marring the O-ring.
Just add on drop of engine oil on the male side during re-installation.

- Solution: find appropriate O-ring rated for fuel at local hardware store or get a junk yard
park and swap the O-ring over...
