Throttle body electrical connector 2002 V70 X/C

Greetings All,
I am going to tackle the dreaded electrical connector for the Throttle Body on my 2002 V70 X/C. I held it on for years with wire and silicone, but this just seems incorrect. I've got the Volvo replacement connector/wiring and it has pins to go into the original connector in the wiring harness. I was just wondering if anyone out there knows where this connector is in the wiring harness. I can trace the flex conduit from the old connector down to where it enters a larger conduit (that goes in two directions). I'm trying to reduce the intrusion into the wiring harness with a little bit of information first. I had to deal with a similar repair to the same harness that was done with crimp connectors

halfway through the harness. This took me so many hours to find that is etched into my brain permanently. I'd prefer to find the connector and carefully make the proper repair. I'll eventually cut into the harness, but I would love to know where I'm headed. Thanks for the help over the years!

Thanks. It seemed a bit ridiculous to have a nice motor and an important electrical connector held on with wire and silicone; you can actually see it in the picture.

I'm under the impression the new connector just gets spliced into the old wiring harness.

I believe the wire ends in question get pinned directly into the ECM connector.

I could be mistaken…?….

For my 2004 V70, the small plastic tab broke, I simply used a pair of copper wires taken from an Ethernet Cat 6 cable
to help hold the connector in place.
This has worked well for me

If you want to change the connector itself, just use the tiny screwdriver and transfer the wires over.

I'll be looking at the ECM. The new part comes with the pins from Mother Volvo and I believe there is a reason for this. As mentioned I spent &%$!!!?*** hours tracking down an intermittent electrical issue on a V70 and it turned out to be this cable spliced together with crimp connectors. I rebuilt this beast from the ground up and don't want reliability issues. It's off to dive into the wiring harness, I'll update the thread in a few days (I'm awfully busy for a retired person?). Thanks for the input!

The more I think about it, the obvious choice is to simply remove the pins from the connectors and put the new connector on the old harness. This becomes very obvious when you look at replacing the wiring all the way to the CEM. I just happen to have a set of the pin removal tools too.

If you scour the internet you might find the proper connector, pins, etc. Then you can sell the pricey Volvo harness on Ebay.
