Warts and all, The Birds and C,S & N were important parts of my life.

While he didn't write it solo, this has to be one of the most iconic rock tunes of its' age.


I lived aboard a wooden 117' ketch in Honolulu during one of my off-patrol periods and had the chance to visit his boat when it stopped over at our marina.

I snuck into a concert by the Byrds at Fordham University - I think it was '66 - mostly because a couple of high-school grad buddies worked at the Student Union cafe and we could get up the back stairs. Also, I was a broke high-school kid. "Eight Miles High" knocked the place down.

I saw him and Stills, Nash at Red Rocks in 1990. They were good.

Must have been one of the (brief) periods when they were talking to each other. Graham Nash once said "It was always weird. It was never not weird."
