07 V70 "Maintenance Required" Message Reset DONE!

Post by OliPhant »

Hi All,
My 07 V70 was showing the dreaded "Maintenance Required" message. I tried resetting it with diverse hacks found online involving the trip meter button & ignition key. None worked. The following worked. Thanks to Flying Wheels Danville, NH.

1. Set trip meter to T1 (trip meter was showing mileage when i did it...)
2. Turn ignition key to position 0 (off).
3. Press/Hold trip meter button.
4. Turn key to position 2.
5. Continue holding trip meter button 5 -10 seconds until orange attention light <!> blinks.
6. Release trip meter button.
7. Turn key to 0 (offf).
Done.

Hope this helps!

I think the engineers for the service reset process may get strange pleasure from giving incorrect or confusing instructions for the reset. I have had trouble with every vehicle I own with a service interval reset.

Agreed - some engineer enjoyed making up that little charade (and then making it a secret).
