Been there many times, staring at a pile of parts on the garage workbench. Good news is all those are a pretty quick install.

08 S60 finally got the air bag recall done. Was “on their list” over a year, called in December and they had parts so scheduled service appt. Being a safety driven brand disappointed how much prodding it took on my part to get a safety recall done. Overall their parts/service seems a step below local Ford and Nissan dealers I have experience with, at least employees the customers deal with.

New timing belt, and roller, tensioner, etc. in the boy’s ‘07 V70. I am so greasy & tired. We also found a good fuel pump in a C70 in a pick-a-part. Taking apart a C70 is strange and confining, but the fuel pump looks lovely.
Looking for a V90 to be my next Volvo, at the very least a T5.

2017 XC90 Inscription - My best Volvo by far, but Ex-wife departed & I had to sell. 😕
2001 S80 T6 - rebuilt trans, head gasket, fixed & sold
1997 V70 - kid car, sold
1996 850 GLT - found under bridge, 2 year refurb project, commuter car, kid car, T-Boned - SIPS saved passenger. Totaled.
1997 VW GTI VR6 - exceedingly fast.
1971 VW Type II/231 - it was pointed out by management that the children would be killed in it.

Yesterday, I worked on the 2001 V70. It has had a chronic problem with Position Light Bulb Failure. These are rear marker lights. This time I tried adjusting the contacts in the bulb holder so that both contacts were similarly bent to the outside. I did this to the other side a few days ago. After several short trips today, there were no failure messages. I may have a good fix.

Replaced one of the coolant hoses on my father’s 2008 XC70. He just said he got a “Low Coolant” light. The plastic nipple had basically disintegrated. Mileage is around 102k - just replaced the thermostat (broken tab, stuck open) recently. Reminder to do all these things at once!

The two M10x1.5 bolts on the engine stabilizer mount, locations as shown in the pix, won't take the the 50Nm torque. Is it a helicoil or time-sert repair; long bolts where the threads are deep below the surface?
