Fixed - ‘07 V70 2.5T 2nd hand S80 rims don’t fit?

Brothers,

My son has the pictured wagon and picked up these S80 rims only to be told by our friends at a national tire dealer that the center hole is too small. This seems odd to me, existing and new rims are stock Volvo 7.5” x 17, one being the black steelies the other being the nicer looking alloys, rim sizes match I’m out of my depth here, this not being a spectacular engine explosion. Would you guys have a look and explain using small words?

Okay. Problem solved. So as it turns out these rims fit just fine, our friends at a national tire distributor just weren’t trying that hard. They thought the center hole was the wrong size, but after checking around and my son just putting a tire on himself and taking a drive, he took it back to the shop, they took another go at it and everything is balanced and installed.

I would listen if the info came from an actual volvo shop,
tire swappers rank low on my scale.

If these were from a first gen S80 they fit your P2 chassis. I have a set fitted to my P80 from an S80 and they fit fine. The P3 chassis of 2008 the center bore changed to a smaller one. 63.4mm. Yours is 65.1mm CB which is the same as the 1999-2006 S80.

Thanks. It also turns out that the S80 rim, although being exactly the same 17x7.5 5 lug pattern, the 2007 V70 wheel wells are taller and more narrow than the S80 which were wider and shorter. Installing the right V70 tire on his S80 rim made all the difference and my son is enjoying his wagon out at Mountain Home AFB where he in line for Staff Sergeant.
