Used to drive exclusively Volvos for about a decade. When two kids grew big enough to survive a few days of camping, we quickly came to realization that Volvo does not make cars for families like ours (overlanding oriented). The biggest - XC90 - is just not big enough. On top of that, it is too flimsy for wilderness and generally unreliable. I wanted to like XC90 and then V90CC, but could not convince myself it will be a good replacement for the old school XC70.

Meanwhile, we've got a Tundra, because we also bought a house that was in need of a lot of renovation. In 4 years I did nothing to it beyond changing oil and topping up windshield washer once a year. Yes, once a year. We took it everywhere. Zero trips to a dealer. Contrary, wife's 1st gen XC60 was nothing but trouble since new. Impressed by Tundra, and giving a birth to the third child, we sold wife's XC60 and got her a last year old school Sequoia.

So we are down to one Volvo now. The oldest kid denied even jokes of selling my XC70, he wants to take it in a few years. Can understand him, he was practically born in it. That would be an awesome battle wagon for a young adventure seeker. Tried, tested, tuned and endlessly repaired by his dad. Maybe we will weld a grand subframe that runs bumper to bumper in the future, just to stiffen that tired chassis.

I few members from another forum indicated the Delrin's do not add noise or vibration. Viva also has front and rear strut braces and sub-frame / chassis braces.

Oh, I'm talking about general rigidity while having fun off the pavement. Think of it as a mini-frame.

Instead of frame on rail you're going to create a uni-body on rail .

I used to have a 2007 Honda Odyssey LX (until it was totaled).
Use Odyclub.com, great forum.
I wrote a whole bunch of DIYs in that forum.

PS: for parts, use either Honda dealer website (search around) or autohausaz.com (great for Japanese cars).
