My TRAC light flashes after about 15 mins of driving along with a brief engine struggle. This continues every 4 mins or so for the remainder of the trip. It goes away if I turn the DSA button off.
I thought this was an ABS issue, however it still happens even though my ABS is removed from the car and in the US for repair. Which incidentally they came back and said they can't find anything wrong with the module.
This may not be connected by I now have a P102 error which I know is my MAF sensor reading low, which I cleaned with MAF spray with no resolution.
Help my car is unhappy.

TRAC issues
I can now confirm my MAF was naff. After replacing the Mass Air Flow sensor $324 CAN all systems returned to normal, no more TRAC light flashing, gears are a lot better but not perfect and of course no more P0102 error and incidentally no more occasional low idle error code.
Moral of this story is Volvo dealers are NOT always right!! I did NOT need a new ABS module $900 CAN.

Did you ever find the problem? My S40 is having a problem like you described. I also had a MAF sensor CEL, which I replaced, and the car initially seemed to run much better. Furthermore, when the DSA (TRAC) light comes on, the engine will hiccup and sometimes even stall while driving. I can understand it may be a fuel filter or fuel pressure regulator, but the car only has trouble when the DSA light comes on and stays on. Why would the DSA light come on and cause the engine to stall???nORDX wrote:Okay well the MAF sensor didn't fix the problem, BUT ITS STILL NOT THE ABS.
DSA unit by the way is under the glove box.
