Well update after a few bad days.
The head gasket sealer worked perfectly until a -30C day where the radiator froze. Have a minor leak again (first start of day 5 seconds of somewhat rough running, after 700km about 1mm-2mm difference in coolant level). Cat passed away and one of my headlights need the projector to be adjusted.
Plan is to run one more headgasket treatment as per the instructions then drain it all and put proper coolant in. Cutting a few seconds earlier led to this headache. From there i need to get the exhaust manifold repaired and then a new tie rod.
Car still runs good, its hard to find time to do all this but reading week is upon us next week so fingers crossed.
Edit:
Prior to the first treatment car would rough start every time, even when turning the key off then on. Coolant was visible in cylinders 2-3. After treatment no issues until i had the radiator freeze. I mixed up concentrate with 50/50 mix so it was too dilute. The current issue is much lighter than it was previously hence i see the efficacy of the stuff. I have a half bottle left as it only called for a half bottle the first time. Might as well use it.

Hey, if it works, go for it! Sometimes you just need to keep the car going until you have the time to fix it right. I never recommend these snake oil solutions, but occasionally they do the job without causing further damage.

New ones next to the new 'stat, from the Shiny Bolt store up the street. Bought two packs. Bet I won't be able to find the spares next time. Back to Shiny Bolt store. Torx in trash.

Clearly the Volvo gods have an issue with me! I decided to return the 'faulty' alternator to the junkyard, although it may have been fixable. I hope another comes along in the future as there were no other cars with the correct one in the yards just now (low Volvo inventory
)
Anyway returned it and picked up some other parts I could not live without (actually I could), as I think the remaining P80's will be departing this yard shortly as they are fairly threadbare.
Got my $36 refund/in yard credit and on the way home got a windshield chip by stone from an uncovered dump truck.
Got chip repaired ($32). So after gas for the trip I am out of pocket!
Neil.

Oh that sounds nasty. I wonder if you can recover damages from the truck company that caused that.
We have a major rock quarry about 2 miles from here right off of a major highway Rt 22. They like to pull onto the highway fully loaded going 5 miles per hour. Have to be careful to watch out for them when going that way (westbound). Lucky i dont have to go that way anymore i take a back road.
That quarry has been there for years on Chimney Rock Road.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

I cant agree more. We have a quarry near here where they pull right onto the highway going super slow. Have to watch out for them. Everybody else is going 50mph or over. They go 5mph.

Hey there Steve,
I have not been to NYC in many, many years. Do they still have girls on the street asking passerbys if they want a "date"?
That was a very sad affair many years ago. You could tell they were on heavy duty drugs.
