Unfortunately it's unlikely you will ever be compensated by those trucking companies. They usually have some small disclaimer on the trucks that they're not liable for any damages.
My cousin once witnessed a dump trunk launch a whole brick from between the rear tires, and directly hit someone's windshield on their Tahoe. The Tahoe followed the dump truck to the site (which was right up the road from where it happened) and demanded compensation. The site foreman just pointed to the warning on the truck, and said that he was following too closely. HE WAS IN THE ONCOMING LANE! Not even following the truck!
What did you do to your Volvo today? Topic is solved

I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.
1998 v70, non turbo, FWD, base model, on the road from April 2nd, 2015 to July 26, 2023.

Received my Amazon package today. I've been noticing that similar to my 850 the S70's cruise control takes more pedal than it should to disengage, so I ordered a new brake pedal switch. I didn't want to spend the big bucks for the switch that I did for the 850 ($50+expedited shipping), so I ordered an SMP Intermotor swtich from Amazon... $21.
I just inspected it, and it's an Alps made Volvo switch in an SMP Internotor box. Both names are molded right into the plastic body.

A company caller Intermotor made parts we got in the UK for Volvo 120's and 140's like points sets for the distributor and distributor condensers and the like which even 45 years ago were getting hard to find for those cars. They made a fair product and usually priced way below Volvo if they had the parts.
Now who knows these days were the parts are made and if they are any good.
Neil.

The switch I got is made in Japan, just like the Volvo switch I bought through FCP, Alps is a Japanese company, so it's another Volvo/Aisin type relationship. This time the Volvo branding isn't ground off like on my new waterpump.

Occasionally you'll get OEM-made parts from SMP. It can be a crap shoot, but many of their parts are made by high quality manufacturers.

Weather warmed up enough it got tolerable in the garage, so,...
Into the breech again, long-delayed 850 head job. Whacked it until my back said whoa, figure I'm 8% there.

I put a new plate on the 850, as I wanted one of the new design. I then I put new Hella "50% brighter" bulbs in the S70, as the lights are terrible due to aiming after the frontend was smashed by the previous owner. Hopefully they'll be a little bit better. I looked at each bulb I removed. One was an Osram made in Germany and the other was a Philips made in Poland.
The internal connectors were different. One side had a plastic housing for the wires that pulled off, the other side had individual metal spade connectors that needed a locking tab pushed.... and the wire insulation was cracking and missing, which I think I've read is typical.
