Yes shipping is expensive as it is hard to pack and the dimensions actually what determines the cost in this case more than the weight!
On the front brace (the smaller 'V' shaped brace with the 3 holes, the pont sits in the middle of the front sub-frame cross member and there are 3 threaded holes to bolt into. The 2 legs of the 'V' have similar single holes either side at the rear. I had thought of pulling the whole sub-frame, but would require removing the engine and trans which I have zero enthusiasm for. Also having re-bushed my own R subframe a bout 4 years ago and maybe 3k miles, I have no intention removing and replacing it. I would drill holes in the current fame and use steel thread-inserts.

The seller lived far away from me so it didn't seem possible I could get it. In another stroke of fortune, they had a family member visiting who was soon heading home... near my town in NH. That person kindly hauled the brace over many state lines and I picked it up from him.
I paid a very fair price considering my only effort was a quick 90 minute round trip drive to a neighboring town I visit all the time. Sure beats searching for that brace in a junkyard, somehow lifting the car in unsafe conditions, and lying on my back in the mud to remove it.
The brace will go on the T5M to compliment the OEM strut tower brace. The previous owner told me in detailed engineering terms how that strut tower brace improved the handling and predictability of the car. When I mentioned the C70 subframe brace, he couldn't imagine that there would be flex in the middle of the car, but I said the enthusiasts swear by it. Maybe it's just hype, but I feel a little more special for having it.
Another good fortune: When looking through the few pieces of old paperwork that the previous owner gave me, I found... the original window sticker. It's hard to describe how thrilled I am about that. I can't wait to get this car back to stage 0 and try out its improved performance on the road.
Glad that work out for you! Hope to have mine installed on the 00 S70 soon.
.
Blessings,

Would that V brace work for the 00 S70 and if it does is it plug and play? Having trouble visualizing where it attaches.

It just so happens I was at the junkyard today to return a faulty alternator so had decided to go liberate some parts as the 3 remaining P80's are getting threadbare so won't be there much longer. I forgot my phone last time there to take some pictures of where the 2 braces fit so did that today. Not greatest pictures, but hopefully good enough as avoiding wet slippy packed snow and ice and puddles under the car!
The 3 bolt holes in the middle of the 'V' base bolts here on the front cross part of the front sub-frame at the bottom center of the picture.
At the rear corners of the sub-frame you can see the short threaded stub that sits proud of the frame.
The other one in a matching point at the other side, you can see it just above the sway-bar end.
Hopefully that helps!
The other brace mounts under the rear large bolts of the front sub-frame:
You can see the large silver rind where the sub-frame rear mount should be above in the lower right of the picture.
The middle part of the larger brace mounts her below the front floor across where the front to back cavity where the muffler fits on a FWD car. I think that may be where the prop=shaft brace bolts to on the AWD cars? Don't know for sure.
Hope that is of some help MoVolvos!

That's really interesting! I've never seen people talk about that front V brace. Well, I haven't looked all that hard. Thanks for taking the pictures and such. I hope people can find this info via search if they need it.

Thanks scot850, the photos are perfect. Can't miss the other ends once the front is attached.
Picture of the young Swedespeeder's S70 from whom both FireFox61 and I purchased our braces.

Wow, that underside looks nice. What parts of the car are resting on that lift? I put the front lift points under the supports at the tips of the V on this brace. The stock V70 parts have much more surface area than these C70 ones. I may need to find a new way to lift the car.
In other news, I just got an unopened, new old stock, American made Craftsman oil filter wrench, part 46955. Surely the oil filter on the T5M will be stuck after having been on there for the past six years. Other Craftsman oil filter wrenches are part 47064 with three prongs (made in USA at least back in 2012) and part CMMT98352 with three prongs (appears to be contract manufactured (the same as many other brands with Craftsman name slapped on) and the grips look worse).
Kinda feels bad that some of my tools for 99- won't work on the -98 (like my oil filter wrench... and my VIDA/DICE). That's ok, I'll be ready to work on any 99- when necessary.

I think it’s the great that probably the most deliberate, cautious guy I know on the Forum, goes rogue and buys an untested, unseen car in auction, and scores the Gem of the Year.
