04 C70 under bumper air guide 8611392

Whilst I was at the junkyard today liberating a few more parts before the current crop get crushed, I decided to bring the under bumper air guide for the 04 C70 convertible home to ask if anyone recognizes it as normal for that car. I was surprised that the center section is different to the V/S 70's and 850's I am used to seeing.

The center portion is held in place by a 4-5 clips. On an S/V 70 this usually has a few tangs on the front edge plus a couple of slots either side to allow you to add the lower grille air guide. It is also all one piece.

The center piece also does not have the 'hook' that normally mounts into the bottom of the radiator.

The add on center piece does have a Volvo part number:

I think I paid about $12 CDN for it. I suppose it could be used in a pinch for an S/V70 with a couple of mods.

Who knew Norway made plastic parts for Volvos?? We know Sweden does and Denmark and Germany, but Norway??!

Unfortunately the front bumper had been removed, so I don't know why the under tray was different unless as a last year 04 vert they simplified stuff in the final years?

We should find the plant in Norway that makes this stuff. Can’t be too hard.

I recently picked up a spare intake tube (Volvo Air Intake Hose part number 30680447) that is marked "Made in Norway" on the bag and by a white sticker on the part. This is the tube that runs from the MAF to the turbo on the 850 and has a PTC valve.

Nice! I will need to go check as I bought a new one on clearance in Sweden a few years back. I wonder where it was made?
