No sir I certainly didn't... I only replaced the one strut on the passenger side. The noise seemed to come from the left side of the car at first now it seems as if both sides are making noise. Is it likely that I have two bad spring seats? If thats the case I should get a new strut for the drivers sie as well. I'll check it out.
Thanks agian MIJ!

Yes! On Volvo's I've never had any luck just replacing struts. When I do these, I always at least do the spring seats and also inspect the strut mounts and change them if they look worn. (The strut mount is the one at the very top that has a gear in them). That said, avoid the cheap Scantech spring seats...they might last a year at best.
