2010 C30 Rear Seat Back Upholstery
2010 C30 Rear Seat Back Upholstery
The cloth panel on the back of one of the rear seat backs in my 2010 C30 has come off. It seems to be held in only by the pressure of the cushion and upholstery on the seat back, but I can't for the life of my get it to slip back into place. Any suggestions? I'd love to find out that this can be done without removing the seat back from the car, as I'm not confident of my ability to get it back in after that!

I am also looking for feedback on this since I am looking to replace the seat skins on the rear seat backs. I have pulled the seat backs with the instructions I found on line but I need to pull the skins.

I just replaced the seat skins on my 08 C30. When I put the skins on I dealt with the carpet backs both ways. First I put the skin on first and then I put the carpet on. The skins are held by metal tabs that catch the strips sewn on to the covers.
After getting the first cover on I used a bone tool and some plastic bondo mixers to try and press the carpet into place along the cover. That didn't work too well. I then switched to some wide 3" or so dry wall putty knifes and smaller putty knifes. This tended to knick the upholstery so I had to be careful. The tools were little rusty so I think that helped to grip the carpet as i pushed in along side the cover.
On the second cover I put the carpet in first and then put the cover on. It's a tight fit. This method was easier. You don't have that option though.
